Abstract:Sea Turtles or marine turtles spend the bulk of their lives in the ocean. They’re really ancient. The oldest known sea turtle fossil is at least 120 million years old, making sea turtles some of the oldest creatures on the planet. Sea turtles can be found all around the world, from the cold waters off California to the warm beaches of the Coral Triangle. Males never leave the ocean, while females will come ashore to lay their eggs on sandy beaches during the nesting season. Sea turtles are not aggressive unless they are in danger. However, becoming too close to them increases the risk of getting a painful bite. Recent estimates show us that there are nearly 6.5 million sea turtles left in the wild.
